Labor Day in Michigan
By the calendar’s standards, Summer is over on Monday. Labor Day weekend is here, and there are many events going on in Michigan to celebrate the holiday. Go to one of many beaches and enjoy the great weather while getting a tan, go play 18 holes and enjoy being out in nature, go to one of the many parks and walk, run, bike, enjoy the Wonder of Michigan. Mackinac Bridge Walk, St. Ignace/Mackinaw City, September 7, 2009
Annual chance for pedestrians to walk across the five-mile long engineering marvel connecting Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsulas. Governor Jennifer Granholm will step off at 7 a.m. in St. Ignace. The last walkers are allowed to start at 11 a.m. (weather permitting). Shuttle buses provide service between the two host cities for a nominal fee.
