A Marathon is Won with the First Step
As the first post of Wonder Michigan, we need to start somewhere. The idea behind this blog is to have a place where the positives of Michigan can be shown to the world. My goal is to change the view that nothing good is happening in Michigan. I have grown up in Michigan, received two degrees from in state public universities, and plan on staying in Michigan to grow my family. There is no doubt that Michigan has a tough battle in front of her when it comes to economics and image. Throughout all the foreclosures, job layoffs, company bankruptcies, and bad news coming out of the state, it is easy to forget about the beauty of the great lakes on a summer weekend, the rush and energy of a football Saturday at either Michigan or Michigan State. The companies that are still located in Michigan that are proud to call Michigan home, and are still employing many Michiganders. If the younger citizens are not going to work to better the state, then who will? I am starting my contribution with this post.
