Buy Michigan Challenge
It is very hard in today’s fast paced world to really know where our food is coming from. I think that one way that we can protect our own is try to buy from Michigan companies. I am a realist and know that to go all Michigan is a lot to ask and somewhat impossible. I am challenging the readers of this blog to focus on increasing the amount of products that they purchase from Michigan companies. There are two main ways to accomplish this challenge. First is to look for Michigan products, and second is to buy products from Michigan retailers. Two Michigan based companies that are promoting Michigan products are Westborne Market, and Aco Hardware. Some other suggestions are to shop at Meijer’s or Spartan Grocery stores instead of Kroger’s or Wal-Mart. One last option is to take a trip to a local farmers market, not only can you get a good deal; you will be supporting a local business.
